Vintage Chinese hand carved Zhoushan stone sculpture depicting temple guardian lion, also known as Shishi or Fu Dogs. the sculpture features a female shishi with three cubs. it may also be used as an incense burner. Zhoushan stone is a type of pyrophyllite which is a soft stone suitable for carving. the piece is likely from the early 20th century.
